Safety of non-swimmers: - Continuous, active and vigilant supervision by a competent adult of poor swimmers or non-swimmers is required at all times (remember, children under 5 are at greatest risk of drowning) - When using the pool, designate a competent adult to supervise them - When using the pool, poor swimmers or non-swimmers should wear personal protective equipment.
- When the pool is not in use or unsupervised, remove all toys from the pool and its surroundings so that children are not attracted to it. Using the pool safely: - Encourage all users, especially children, to learn how to swim - Learn basic CPR procedures such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and refresh this knowledge regularly. This can save lives in an emergency situation. - Instruct all pool users, including children, on what to do in an emergency situation. - Never dive into shallow water. This can lead to serious injury or death. - Do not use the pool under the influence of alcohol or medication, which can impair your ability to use the pool safely. Safety devices and equipment: - To prevent children from drowning, it is recommended to secure access to the pool with a safety device. - To prevent children from climbing on the inlet and outlet valve, it is recommended to install a barrier (and secure all doors and windows, where applicable) to prevent unauthorized access to the pool.
- It is advisable to keep lifesaving equipment by the pool (such as a ring buoy) - Keep a working telephone and a list of emergency numbers near the pool - When a pool cover is used, remove it completely from the water surface before entering the pool - Protect poolgoers from water-related illnesses by treating the pool water and following hygiene guidelines. Refer to the water treatment guidelines in your owner's manual. - Keep chemicals (such as water treatment, cleaning or disinfection products) out of the reach of children. - Use the signage described below. Place the signage in a visible location within 2.00 meters of the pool. - Supervise children in the aquatic environment. Prohibit diving. - Place removable ladders on a solid, level surface. - Regardless of the materials used to construct the pool, regularly inspect the area under the pool and its equipment for safety hazards. - Monitor screws and bolts regularly. Remove splinters or any sharp edges to avoid injury - Do not leave a drained pool outside. An empty pool can become deformed and/or displaced by wind. - If you have a filter pump, read the pump's instruction manual. Do not use the pump if someone is in the pool - If you have a ladder, refer to the ladder's instruction manual WARNING! Using the pool means following the safety instructions described in the operation and maintenance manual. To prevent drowning or other serious injury, pay special attention to the possibility of unexpected entry into the pool by children under 5 years of age, securing access to the pool and having children under the constant supervision of an adult while in the pool.
