Non-swimmer safety: - Continuous, active, and vigilant supervision by a competent adult is required at all times for weak swimmers or non-swimmers (remember that children under 5 years of age are at greatest risk of drowning). - Designate a competent adult to supervise the pool while in use. - Weak swimmers or non-swimmers should wear personal protective equipment while in the pool. - When the pool is not in use or unsupervised, remove all toys from the pool and its surroundings to prevent children from being attracted to it. Safe pool use: - Encourage all users, especially children, to learn to swim. - Learn basic life support, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and refresh this knowledge regularly. In an emergency, this could save lives. - Instruct all pool users, including children, what to do in an emergency. - Never dive into shallow water. This could result in serious injury or death. - Do not use the pool under the influence of alcohol or medications that may impair your ability to use the pool safely. Safety Devices and Equipment: - To prevent children from drowning, it is recommended to secure access to the pool with a safety device. - To prevent children from climbing over the inlet and outlet valves, it is recommended to install a barrier (and secure all doors and windows, where applicable) to prevent unauthorized access to the pool. - It is recommended to keep life-saving equipment near the pool (e.g., a ring buoy). - Keep a working telephone and a list of emergency numbers near the pool. - When a pool cover is in use, remove it completely from the water surface before entering the pool. - Protect pool occupants from water-related illnesses by treating the pool water and practicing good hygiene. Please refer to the water treatment guidelines in the owner's manual. - Keep chemicals (e.g., water treatment, cleaning, or disinfection products) out of the reach of children. - Use the labeling described below. The sign must be placed in a visible location within 2.00 m of the pool. - Supervise children in the water. Diving is prohibited. - Removable ladders must be placed on a solid, level surface. - Regardless of the materials used in the pool's construction, regularly inspect the surface under the pool and its equipment for safety hazards. - Regularly inspect screws and bolts. Remove splinters or any sharp edges to avoid injury. - Do not leave the pool empty outdoors. An empty pool may deform and/or move in the wind. - If you have a filter pump, consult the pump's instruction manual. Do not use the pump if anyone is in the pool. - If you have a ladder, consult the ladder's instruction manual. WARNING! Using the pool means following the safety instructions described in the operation and maintenance manual. To prevent drowning or other serious injury, pay special attention to the possibility of children under 5 years of age unexpectedly entering the pool by securing access and ensuring that children are under constant adult supervision while in the pool.
