- SPRING - A thermometer consists of two strips of metal, joined together and wound into the shape of a spring. When the thermometer is heated, the strips of metal expand to varying degrees, causing the spring to bend. This bend is proportional to the increase in temperature, allowing the temperature at the point where the thermometer is placed to be measured.

Bimetallic thermometer is used to measure the temperature of gases and liquids flowing through pipes. Useful in heating installations, pipelines or tanks. The thermometer is mounted using a spring included in the set. The length of the spring without stretching is 6.5 cm - fits standard pipes.
